Do you EVER remember which way USB cable goes in?

This is gotta be the most frustrating thing. Which everway I try to plug it in, it is the other way around. Why can't they be bidirectional, or whatever the word is?

I have seen someone without glasses trying to plug in a USB mouse into the ethernet port

Not always so, especially when the port is oriented vertically.
USB Logo, to USB Logo works though.
Works with all the USB types.

It is comforting to know I'm not the only one who thinks about this.

I work in a university library where PC laptops are loaned to students. The laptops get wiped after every return with Ghost writing back the original installation from an external USB drive. With the number of different persons connecting them up during the day, we ended up have the USB plugs marked with an "UP" label to make it easier to get right.

Yup, I always have to look at the plug and look at the receptor. otherwise, I get it wrong just by guessing
