Hands free cellphone myth.
#1
All of the states seem to be banning cellphone use while driving but not hands free. University of Utah which has done a lot of research on this show both are as distracting and dangerous. Loss of concentration and peripheral vision.

Meh.
They won't make it past the mall.
And for those that do, there's a yoga place nearby.

Actually all conversations, cell phone or otherwise, engage parts of the brain that will distract from keeping attention on the road and operating a vehicle. 25 years ago I drove buses at the university I was attending. Policy posted in all the buses was not to talk to the driver while it was in motion. Friends and acquaintances would start talking to me anyways, and then wonder why I would just stop in the middle of a response. As I explained to them then, something came up on the road that required my full attention, and I just dropped the talk with them. Unfortunately, many if not most persons on cell phones will not follow that same rule.

I should have put this on "Tips and Deals". Boy would Seacrest draw some fire from more women on the forum. Expose him to a bigger audience. I am waiting for the flak to begin. Funny stuff.

I have no issues talking and driving. When my attention is demanded, I say "Crap, hang on" and drive. I love my handsfree bluetooth.

What enrages me are the idiots who are holding a phone in one hand yammering away, a cup of coffee in the other, and wonder why they are yawing into my lane and i'm waving my hands at them.

I did not even bother with "crap, hang on", I just dropped the conversation. Sometimes could not remember what I or the other person had been saying. Need for attention elsewhere had to be immediate with 12+ tons of bus and 50 passengers behind me.

Drinking and Driving is much, much worse!
Talking on cells is bad, but drinking not only kills on the road but at home.
