First they made iPhoto an essential upgrade (IMO: never used it previously, now I love it), then they made the iPhoto collection available to ALL apps (not just Apple apps!!!). Try it with yer MS Word, for example (insert image from file).
FWIW: no trouble upgrading from Tiger.

My machine is to old for much of the eye candy and I have not had a lot of time to play. I got it for Christmas. I do know that Photoshop 7 does not work.. My display says it loses signal on Front Row. Could it be my KVM switch?
No hurry on put on the wife's iMac. If I do I would take it off mine. Still learning the pros and cons.
Turned off screensaver in the Front Row settings and it works now. I have a lot to learn with new software and old hardware.

I think screen sharing is worth every penny. It makes it easy to update various machines around the house.

I alternately hate it and love it. I was one of those who lost permissions when I installed it. I did the upgrade, not archive etc. Fixing that took a couple days.
All my apps so far are working with it.
Problem: I am asked for my password every time I go on line (and I have to go off because I only have one phone line). I've looked everywhere i can think of and can't figure out how to change this. Also much slower dialing up.
Problem: Doesn't play nice with the caller ID. I liked having that message pop up whenever a phone call came in while i was on line.
Problem —minor: I have to use one of the Macs dinky sounds for my mail app, because my usual sounds don't seem to work.
Problem: not sure if this is leopard, but it's new since I installed it—ethernet connection to Tiger on another machine doesn't seem to work. Can't get the machines to see each other. This is a biggie. I have a workaround but it involves using the laptop between my two desktops. Not good.
Benefit—Starting to get used to cover flow and quick look, finding that useful.
No opinion on stacks, i don't seem to be using it.
I'm expecting to get a lot more use out of spaces.
My recommendation: If you have a recent machine and are not planning to get a newer one soon, you might want to consider getting a copy. But keep tiger available.

I miss DiskWarrior & SuperDuper, neither of which is yet supported in Leopard.

I didn't make the statement lightly.
My family and i have had over 25 Macs since we started out with a LC.
The first computer I upgrade to 10.5 was my 17" power book.
It booted with user "other" spent 6 hours on the phone with Apple Care to get it fixed.
then the same day Apple came out with the Keychain update. That broke Airport card on the computer, a couple more hours to fix.
Second computer was my daughters Macbook. The upgrade deleted the directory on the hard drive so I had to rstore that one.
Upgrade on the G5 caused permissions problems.
Apple ended replacing my 17" Powerbook with a Macbook Pro because they had made several attempts to repair the hinge and screws that kept falling out.
The new Macbook pro came with 10.4 installed on it and a 10.5 upgrade disk.
After the previous experiences I did a clean install of 10.5 then migrated everthing from a backup I had.
This install screwed up all permissions and made all my files read only. I fixed that but now if I run permissions it immediately give me an error.
Final straw is if I try to do any updates they fail to install.
Applecare says at this point i Need to archive and reinstall 10.5.

Found another one. My Epson Photo 820 print driver doesn't work properly with Leopard. I have to boot from me Tiger external firewire drive in order to use the full features of the driver.

Wow! I'm not getting any warm and fuzzies about Leopard here. I haven't touched it yet, and I think I'm glad that I didn't...

[quote mattkime]Mounted volumes can no longer crash the whole system. that feature alone is worth the price. the rest is icing.
Came here to say this.
