A Special Beer to Celebrate Doing Taxes
#1
Just finished doing my and my parent's taxes.

At least I got a refund from both the Feds and Ohio!

To celebrate, I'm drinking this black currant Lambic.

Slightly sweet, very dark burgundy, and oh so smooth....

I don't drink, but you could have an extra one for me if you'd like. I got my taxes filed today, too. My "refund" was only $1, to be applied to my 2008 deposits, but it was better than having to pay more.

I've got to do my mom's as soon as I can get around to it. I e-file hers and I picked up all the info last week, so now it is just a matter of getting it all in order and inputting. She will no doubt owe some, so it isn't like filing earlier would have been any real benefit. Still, I dread it. My husband dropped off our tax prep packet to our accountant yesterday, so at least that is done.

I just saw on the news tonight that since we are in one of the counties declared a disaster area because of the tornado that touched down in Atlanta, we actually don't have to have ours in till the middle of May. I want it filed and over with by 4/15 though.

Personally I would just go with a blue label Chimay.

I don't quite get the idea of fruit syrup in beer.

Freeradical,

Then you've never had blueberry beer. A local brewery, which no longer exists, had a blueberry beer that sustained me through college. Its an acquired taste.

I would have thought you would choose something a lot more bitter!

I did mine 2 nights ago. Snow Plow from Widmer Bros was my beer of choice.

Yeah, maybe some Fernet Branca to wash down the fresh stinging nettle salad.

Wow, I get an extra month to procrastinate on my taxes? I have them about 75% done and just need to finish them out, but I usually wait until the last week. The last few years, we have owed on Federal but got money back on state. One pretty much paid for the other, give or take a few $.
