I've exchanged private messages with a couple of others from the forum, and one of them suggested I post another bit of information.
Mint had finally ordered a new MacBook from Apple! Unfortunately, he died before it was delivered. Bless his heart.
I know Mint's family will appreciate seeing this thread, and I will see to it that they get a link to it. I'm still waiting to hear from his sister again, hoping that she'll pass along information about a memorial and/or an obituary for him.

Well---he finally got the Stickie he wanted, and deserved.
He is at peace, and I bet he is reading this from a new MacBook Pro. He deserved one!
Rest in Peace Mint
edit--I was composing this before the above post on the new MacBook.
Man-that is so cool that he had finally had on on the way.
Mint gets a posthumous L E A D E R

I'd like to read an obituary...
I'd like to learn more about the man behind the handle "Spearmint".

That poor guy.
That's not how I want to end my days. Pay attention everybody, life is short.
That is a shame-really.

What sad news. Mint was definitely one of the premiere characters on here and DM before. Maybe I disagreed with him on virtually everything one could disagree about, but I always wished him better times and even thought of him when the Cubbies were doing well. There was definitely something endearing about the guy, for sure.
See you on the other side, man.

I'm sure that he's now enjoying a cold one in that great, big Wrigley Field in the sky with this fellow.

Very sad news indeed. I enjoyed his posts, and was very troubled by the tone that seemed to be conveyed by him in the last couple months. I hope his troubled soul is finally at peace, and this will influence me to get more involved when I sense someone in trouble and offer a helping hand, or ear as the case may be.
God bless 'Mint, you will be missed more than you could ever have known.
