Tried to sell my problematic Intel Mac Mini this AM on eBay. The listing wizard kept bouncing me to add a Paypal e-mail address even though I only accept USPS Money Orders. After bouncing through the screens for a while I noticed this:
"eBay and PayPal are making buying on eBay safer. All sellers are now required to offer PayPal or a merchant credit card as a payment method in their listings."
Okay. I'll risk things on Craigslist now.

I put a Panasonic Showstopper 27" combination TV/video recorder on CL last Saturday and sold it the same day. I prefer CL especially with all the fraud that's going on with eBay. I have several items I want to sell that need a wider audience than local though, so I suppose I'll have to use eBay when I get around to them.

Remember though that ebay has bought a substantial stake in Craigslist -- just a matter of time before CL starts charging fees. In fact, they've already put a fee setup in place for placing listings.

That was almost four years ago, though.

I am looking for a musical instrument. Each time I search CL it only searches a particular area. Any way to search all of CL?

I gave up on eBay years ago. Yeah, I have to dig a little deeper sometimes, and don't get the quick response when I'm selling something that isn't a great bargain, but the freedom from PayPunk and the arbitrary rules more than make up for it.

What about using Amazon to resell things that they may still have a product page for? Is that a good way to move things at a fair price? I have a couple high(er) end HDD/DVD video recorders that I'd like to sell before the digital revolution starts in February.

Yes, but will not be long before they've bought majority stake.
