I'd been considering it for a couple of years but waiting until they perfected the all-laser techniques. Also, really the only part of the body that makes me queasy is the eye. But, I've grown tired of my contacts and decided this was to be the year. I've been saving up all year for it, putting money into a Healthcare Spending Account.
Very bizarre feeling. It didn't hurt, but lots of pressure applied. Obviously I was awake for it, but when they apply suction to hold the eyeball still and the vision is lost, it was a bit unnerving. Although everything was hazy initially, I could immediately tell a difference. After a 2 hour nap, I'm seeing as good, if not better than with my contacts/glasses.

The only part that's *really* makes one queasy is the smell of burning tissue.
You really should be resting your eye(s) and not be on the computer. Watching TV or working on the computer tends to dry your eyes out.
You'll be lubing them up as it is, no need to push it.
But congratulations on loosing the contact. Did you get stereo vision or mono vision?

jdc, you'd know better than us, but really- Lasik isn't 100%, almost ever.
And eventually it unwinds anyway. But it can be such a vast improvement, that at least you wouldn't need glasses to find your glasses.
You can't always get what you want but if you try sometime you find you get what you need.

too much astigmatism -- eye doc has said pretty much that i would probably still need to wear glasses for just about everything even after the surgery -- they just couldnt get it close enough...
glasses -- no problem -- perfect vision everytime

How exciting for you. I've been eyeing LASIK for a good 10 years now! Anybody know what the stats are on it "unwinding" as mentioned above?
