Who will Bush Pardon?
#1
Apologies to Doc for taking his thought, but seem like it could be a thread in its own.

Stevens? Scooter? Himself? Darth Cheney?

Dunne, but I doubt he will beat Slick Willie's record of 37 commutations and 149 pardons.

But then nobody pardoned like Harry

mak,, that's done by:
1- changing the rules
2- passing the cost of fines along to the customers. It's a cost of doing business.

Ah, but I do not think that Clinton pardoned a bomb-throwing terrorist like George H.W. Bush did. Bush pardoned Orlando Bosch. It was appalling.

Who will pardon Bush? I'm sure there are a variety of things for which he could be found guilty.

Arrest and release
In 1968 Bosch was arrested in Florida for an attack on a Polish freighter with a 57 mm recoilless rifle and was as a result sent to prison for a ten year term. In 1987, almost a decade after the Flight 455 incident, Bosch was freed from Venezuelan charges and went to the United States, assisted by US Ambassador to Venezuela Otto Reich; there, he was ultimately arrested for a parole violation.

Bosch was detained in the United States for six months until all charges were dropped and he was able to live in the United States freely.

Although many assume he was pardoned by President Bush, this is inaccurate.[6] Bosch was merely released after Cuban-Americans pressured Jeb Bush to have his father intervene on Bosch's behalf.[7] "Although many countries seek Bosch's extradition he remains free in the United States. The political pressure to grant Bosch a pardon began during the congressional campaign run by Ileana Ros-Lehtinen, herself a Cuban American, and overseen by her campaign manager Jeb Bush. [8]

That is not the crime for which he was pardoned. He was pardoned for blowing up the jetliner and killing 73 people aboard.

From wikipedia:

"Bosch was pardoned of all American charges by President George H.W. Bush on July 18, 1990 at the request of his son Jeb Bush, who later became Governor of Florida; this pardon came despite objections by the then President's own defense department that Bosch was one of the most deadly terrorists working "within the hemisphere."[4] "Although many countries seek Bosch's extradition he remains free in the United States. The political pressure to grant Bosch a pardon was begun during the congressional campaign run by Ileana Ros-Lehtinen, herself a Cuban American, and overseen by her campaign manager Jeb Bush."
