Wrong AD...
I post "this stuff" because it is legitimate news. If it riles you up, then that's your problem not mine.
Question is, why does it rile you up so much? Is it a lie? I even gave you two links to go read it. Pick your poison.
It's still a free and open forum. Hit the ignore button, don't read my threads. Call me names. Bring on the attack dogs. It's water off my back. My life isn't going to better or worse for the way you treat me. It just makes you look small.
Shrug.

Lux, I take 75% of what's on Factcheck with a grain of salt. I reference it sometimes because that seems to be a credible source for some folks around here.
But then Factcheck is a spin off of the Annenberg Challenge. You know, those Foundation boards that BHO and Ayres sat on? Go read about it on their own page... http://www.factcheck.org/about/

Since I am wearing my lawyer pants, this is my opinion: I think this case has 0 chance of going anywhere. Nor do I believe it is actual "news" and will properly be treated as the silly publicity stunt that it is.
1) He does not have standing to bring this challenge. That was the basis for the other wacky suits to get thrown out. I doubt California has standing to bring this either, and there is no chance that any state will do this.
2) I don't think a judge, federal or state, has the jurisdictional authority to determine whether or not the president meets the constitutional qualifications to be president. There is almost no chance that any judge would say they do.
3) Judging the qualifications of the electoral college is set to the State legislatures. Judging the qualifications of the president is likely in Congress.
4) Given this case has 0 legal merit, the plaintiff lacks standing, and no judge will hear the matter, there is no chance that any judge will examine BO's original birth certificate.
Some other points: any citizen can get a passport. But you have to be a "natural born" citizen to be president. So the substance of this claim is that he was born out of the country (although since he was born to a US citizen, I think he may still qualify as "natural born" ). I should point out here that McCain was born in Panama, to US Citizen parents, and he was considered to be "natural born".
You would think Swampy and the rest of crazies would be worried about whether there was a c-section or not.

I know that you do not need to be a natural born citizen to get a passport. My point, my only point, is that at some point the State Department accepted as authentic the Birth Certificate that he must have submitted to get a passport. If someone is claiming that the Birth Certificate is a forgery, apparently the State Department didn't think so.
Also, you must submit a "certified" copy of the birth certificate, and not just a copy that you made on a Xerox machine.
*A certified birth certificate has a registrar's raised, embossed, impressed or multicolored seal, registrar’s signature, and the date the certificate was filed with the registrar's office, which must be within 1 year of your birth. Please note, some short (abstract) versions of birth certificates may not be acceptable for passport purposes.
If he was born abroad, he would have submitted a "Consular Report of Birth Abroad" .

Sorry, folks, the story just won’t go away.
Just because the story won't go away doesn't mean that there is any basis in truth. There are still people who spread stories claiming that Americans had never walked on the moon (perhaps you are one of them too).
Despite all of the physical evidence supporting the successful Apollo program, the biggest non-physical confirmation is that the USSR, our opponent in that race, also monitored the progress and believed that we were successful, and would have been the number one party to uncover evidence and provide proof to the world that what we claimed was not true.
All of Obama's opponents (including Democrats during the primaries) did a lot of digging for dirt, and I can only conclude that they found that he met the legal requirement to run for president, otherwise they would have immediately used that against him to eliminate him, instead of spending a lot of money on ads about 3am phone calls or people that he knew.

Very true GGD.
Ultimately, it is nothing but other peoples 'opinions' that we have to go on when we make assumptions about the every day world we live in. So at some point we have to assess the veracity of those 'opinions'. Do we really think Obama's political opponents didn't check out various aspects about his past...especially considering the best they could throw at him were the Ayer's and Wright connections?

Others? WHO exactly? And they examined a scan and not the original?
Everyone cites "techdude" as their forensic expert.
Techdude dubbed himself as a "...board certificated computer investigator with full access to a full forensic computer lab who has investigated thousands of cases." Note, he did not say he was "Board Certified." He said he was" board certificated" which simply means someone gave him a certificate that affirms he completed whatever course of study he purchased.
