I used to visit the AAPL forum often, as it had some really intelligent posts about APPL investing, plus breaking news about Apple. Not so these days. It's nothing more than a smoking pile of rubble. What motivates someone to do this? From what I can see, "it" has invested a lot of time and effort to kill the forum.
A paid forum assassin, or what? Just someone who craves attention? I don't know, but whomever "it" is, I'm pissed that the forum is no longer useful. What are your thoughts?

Same thing happened to a craigslist forum I used to visit pretty much daily.
Tried to get help from staff but no response whatsoever.

Remember Usenet? Oddly enough, some of the groups are doing quite well, and with very little spam.
I just checked adobe.photoshop.macintosh - and the group was quite alive...

Aren't there mods? Some of those comments are so far over the top I find it hard to believe that person was still allowed to post there.

Usenet was my favorite internet thing ever, until the profiteers came, then the spammers. Although, I think the last thing I went to was rec.climbing, which seemed to be doing ok (but I don't climb anymore). How do you even get to the Usenet now days? kj.

Whoa, just checked that out. There's no explaining that. Maybe you could volunteer to be a mod. I think all the google groups I've belonged to had mods. kj.
