Daylight Savings Time
#1
Enough already.
Isn't it long past the time it used to end?
They need to move the date back.

This was George Bush's energy policy and plan to address global warming (sorry if this moves the thread to the other side--I would like to say I am joking but unfortunately, that was a major part of the reason for the change).

I have to admit I like the timing this year: Halloween is on a Saturday and that's the night we move the clocks back. Works out well for us, anyway.

I have several alarm clocks that were pre-programmed before the change in the law, so they moved themselves back this past weekend.

When my boys got up whining at "6 AM" my wife went up to tell them to go back to bed..."it's not even 7 o'clock yet!" However, when she got to their rooms and saw the correct time was, in fact, "7 AM" she came back down and cursed those lawmakers!

Fixed that for ya. GWB never had an energy policy to speak of. But yeah, Daylight savings time is so weird and stupid.

But we'll lose the extra hour of daylight!

It still amazes me that there are people who think that when we go to DST that we actually get an extra hour of daylight. One of my wife's friends, who is a nurse and you would think she's at least somewhat intelligent, is one of those people.

So that's why the sun is coming up after 9am right now? Perfect logic to me. And I appreciate the extra hour when the sun 'sets' around 11pm in the summer up here. Wait, why do we observe it up here? Farmers in the valley who need the extra hour for planting?

This happens to the clock by my bed & it's very annoying.

I remember why they changed this a couple years ago and it wound
costing corporations millions.
