Swampy knows. You just can't handle a Dem looking dumb. He's your guy. I suggest you follow his lead. Don't pay your taxes for 2008. I'll bring you books to read in jail.

LOL

I acknowledged Reid mishandled the trap sprung on him by the flashy tie guy with the agenda. You would be smart to acknowledge the guy with the bad tie wasn't looking for information but rather was only interested in asking the equivalent of "so, have you stopped beating your wife?" And when Reid called him on it, he just kept up with the same tactic. You don't get that, do you?

That makes you either a simpleton or as matt says, willfully misunderstanding. Neither contributes anything to an adult discussion.

Come on Deckeda... Reid granted him an interview. Tie guy first asked about taking money from the people and giving it to other people and "what are Americans supposed to think of their government?" When Reid responded with "Your premise is wrong, we don't take...", Tie guy went for the throat.

Tie guy kept rephrasing the question and Reid kept digging his hole.

I get it, big time. You can't parse it any other way. Tie guy gets A+ in journalism 101.

What sort of personality does it take to deliberately play a poor semantic game with someone sitting in front of you like that, in an effort to make them look foolish?

What kind of personality would agree to an interview that was made him look stupid and not get up and walk out?

It's a fair question, though I don't think it made him look stupid at all. I can only imagine that the explanation of "you're not expressing my views; let me clarify" would have had more of an effect.

Reid: In some countries, European countries as an example, you don't file an income tax return. There is no need to because your employer takes all the money out. That's the difference between an voluntary and a involuntary tax system.

I think I get it now.

Involuntary is when the government makes the employer deduct your taxes so you don't have to file. Voluntary is when the government makes your employer deduct your taxes and you have to file.

This guy is so smart, he should be in government...oh wait....
