One of the hurricanes on the East Coast last year went around the top of the Atlantic and caused widespread flash flooding in England. Melor looks like it has a chance to do the same thing to the West Coast in a few days.
In the video I saw (which I can't find at the moment), it concentrated on people in Japan getting hammered by winds more than rain problems.

Enjoy the relative warmth and sun while you can. Big waves of energy have been going through the US. Two weeks ago in California there were record high temps and four days ago there were record low temps. Part of that wave is why Denver was in the high teen's this morning. Be afraid, be very afraid.
