AppleTV a decent alternative to a MacMINI?

I rip movies to my mac, then stream them to my PS3 using MediaLink. Plus, the PS3 is a good Blu-Ray player (though it needs an add-on dongle to work with my universal remote).

I don't even have any games for it, just use it for movies.
