Aaaaargh! iTunes is driving me batty!
#6
Steps that I take to move an iTunes library to a new Mac:

1. Copy the original folder of audio files to its new location.*
2. Copy the ~/Music/iTunes folder to the Music folder for the appropriate user account on the new Mac.
3. Launch iTunes on the new Mac
4. In the iTunes pref's, select the Advanced tab and change the music folder to the one in the new location. Uncheck the "keep organized" option.
5. Select the "Add to Library..." command from the File menu and select the folder that has your audio files.
6. Wait until it's done.
7. Enjoy.

*Assumes that the folder is not in the default path in the ~/Music/iTunes folder. If this is not the case then skip to step 2.
