I don't see why this is news. I don't know Alaska family law, but in most places unmarried parents file a parentage/paternity action, in which custody and visitation and parentage are decided. He seems to be complaining about being denied access to the child; this is his legal vehicle in order to adjudicate those rights. Outside the media circus, it all looks perfectly normal to me.
