Can we all--except for the usual suspects, that is--agree that we are exercising hindsight here? While there may have been a chance that someone could have foreseen the tragedy at Fort Hood, it would have been a complete shot in the dark.
I deal with people who seem to be batsh*t crazy all the time and so far no one has shot up the neighborhood.
People in the military services are under incredible pressure right now and some of them appear to be batsh*t crazy, but they don't go out and shoot up the post.
In 99.44 percent of the cases batsh*t crazy behavior is a vent, not a symptom.
I got the 99.44 percent number from the old Ivory Soap commercials. don't hold me to the fraction of percentage.
It would be interesting to take a look at receipts at the bar in officers' and NCO clubs. I bet alcohol consumption has doubled or tripled.
Our expectations of others are very unrealistic. We need to stop watching the tube and resume talking to each other.
