An extremely sad day in my little town
#11
Well, stop by and visit; I'm not far from the VA hospital! I'm in that part of Lakewood closer to the big houses and lovely gardens that you pass when you get off the freeway, although note I said "closer", not in one of those big houses. Smile

In this case, the crime scene is, literally, just a matter of the width of two lanes of traffic outside the city limits. In a way I suppose that's just as well, because it means the county sheriff is the lead agency in the investigation. A few weeks ago some people had been critical of the Seattle Police Department when they were in charge of the investigation into the murder of one of their officers. There's no question in this case.

Also keep in mind that many cities have the same two faces, just like Lakewood. The difference here is that the extremes are within such close proximity to each other, because it's a pretty small geographic area.

Oh, and I think part of the reason Lakewood quit participating in Cops is because it used to be patrolled by the county sheriff, and that was the agency with the contract with the show. If I remember right, Lakewood decided not to negotiate a contract when they formed their own police department five years ago.
