Here's Woots response today:

The manufacturer, not Woot, does the quality control of the item. We sell the item based on the presumption that the manufacturer is providing a working and functional item. Therefore your assertion is incorrect. We do state, per our returns policy, that you can contact the manufacturer for support on the item as they should be able to repair or replace the item. Our position with the RMA email provided by XXXXX stands.
