Thanks, all.

I most definitely realize the pet will be my responsibility, primarily. That's a large part of why I nixed the bird idea. I'll be the one taking care of whatever pet we get. I think, though, that my daughter is at an age where she can be taught some lessons about responsiblity by taking part in taking care of a pet.
