Ya know. I have to say that to say that the voters in MA are 'stupid' or 'crazy'... well, those selfsame voters kept Teddy in the Senate for almost 50 years. It wasn't a Democratic seat, it was Teddy's seat.
I think the only reasonable conclusion that you can make is that:
1- Coakley ran a lackluster campaign. Brown did the community organizer / cheerleader thing.
2- Brown got serious support from the Republican party, presumptively in the form of funding. Coakley did NOT get that kind of support from the Democratic party until it was too late.
This election was NOT a vote on Healthcare. MA already has 'required healthcare insurance' by state law.
