I would not argue dropping it altogether, but they have got to get it out of the news. Get it done one way or another. With all the fear mongering about it and how health care is such an awful thing to advocate (really, isn't it now?!), the Dems don't stand a chance for re-election if they don't get HCR off of the table and soon.
The inverse argument could be (and one that I think has some merit), go down in flames if it means accomplishment. Of course, a repeal has already been mentioned in the blogosphere as possible Republican party agenda item for 2012. But, hey, get something done even if you die trying. Take one for the team (the country in this case)
