air compressor part 2
#4
Some of the things I have purchased have turned out to be awesome and some have turned out to be less than awesome. This item is in the second category. One co2 cartridge is enough to fill one adult tire to about 40psi. Buying in bulk that is about $1 to fill a single tire. Apparently this product is not used for the purpose I bought it for. Instead bikers tuck this in their under seat tool pouch to fill a flat tire on the road. It is more of an emergency item.

So I went back to the idea of buying an actual air compressor except I bought a little smaller. I ended up with a DEWALT D55140 Heavy-Duty 1-Gallon 135 PSI Max Trim Compressor. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000HZJ...ss_product . It is smaller than the Makita MAC700 Big Bore 2.0 HP Air Compressor http://www.amazon.com/Makita-MAC700-Big-..._o?ie=UTF8&coliid=I1GBFQUYW4JCGT&colid=5IZQ455KZ8GR that I originally wanted. I had three reasons for coming down and buying a smaller model. 1) It is rated at 69dbi which is pretty quiet for an air compressor, 2) the price was about $80 less, 3) it is light weight and presumably easier to store. And no maintenance.

So it was something of a middle of the road purchase but I think it will work well for me.
