I remember when it was cool and de rigueur to do so, for some it still is. Unfortunately, often it was/is not about accomplishing constructive change but merely an excuse for different behavior. Affectation is so boring.
In my practice/life the people I encountered and surrounded myself with "bucked the man" because our beliefs were and are couched in a way of life consistent with being a part of a cultural revolution. ie;
recycling, being part of real conservation efforts, opposing pollution, getting back to the land, not being dominated by monied people and big business, deeper stuff than just being "cool". We were the "Mother Earth News, "The Whole Earth Catalog. Perhaps you were "often" surrounded by other people *(:>*
Today we are able to see constructive changes because some people were "the spearhead of a cultural revolution"
I hope the BB employee is not fired...
