Well, after a lot of work, my iPad is finally back to normal. I had to restore from my daughter's MBP, repair my MacBook's HD with disk utility, trash and reinstall iTunes and the Mobile Device manager, restore and re-sync the iPad with my MacBook and now it seems to be OK. I think the problem may have been with the Mobile device manager (I think that is the term) and iTunes, because when I would connect the iPad it would not launch iTunes or show in iTunes. Now that I have reinstalled both of those, it seems to be working correctly. Man, what a pain that was. I hope the update was worth it.
