Just received this email from our computer support folks:

It has come to our attention that there are devices within the organization running the latest version of Mac OSX 10.7, a.k.a. Lion. This version of OSX is currently incompatible with our file servers. This incompatibility is causing the file servers to crash and disrupt access for everyone.
We are working to remediate this issue however we request that if you are currently using OSX 10.7 (Lion) on your workstation to please refrain from using the file servers until Monday, July 25th. Communication will be sent out once the issue is resolved.
