Psurfer, I'd be a bit leery of using toothpaste. Wouldn't it be likely that I'd create a discoloration on top of the scratch?
I do like the idea of some kind of overlay that would hide the scratch and, perhaps, protect the lid a bit.
The scratch is off-center in the left hand corner near the catch and most of the designs that I saw on Esty.com were centered and didn't cover the right area. I'll have to keep looking.
