Why is Buddy Roemer not in the Republican debates?

He's trying to run for president. He's the former governor of Louisiana, has two degrees from Harvard, doesn't look like a freak, isn't a huge crook (officially, anyway), is a Methodist, is not a Mormon, hasn't proposed anything as nutty as 9-9-9, can probably name a magazine he reads, etc. Come on.

Edit: I know the official reason about not getting over a threshold in polls, but he's a better and less embarrassing candidate than over half of the clowns in the Clown Car.
