Can't help you with either of your questions but wanted to let you know that you will love it. I've got the 11 incher and, aside from my mac mini media server, it serves as my primary computer.
Let's hope that yours somehow has the upgraded Samsung SSD that's faster than the original Toshibas that were shipping until recently.
