billb, I've experienced that same scenario coming down I-75 at night. Dozens, if not hundreds, along the side of the road grazing. As soon as your headlights catch them, the jerk up like they're ready to flee.
Definitely some white knuckle driving! ::o
matt, the big wolf pack is on Isle Royal. There may be some in the U.P. (or even in the lower), but I'm not sure. We do have lots o coyotes. They pick off the old, weak ones. Or, you know, like the deer that have been recently involved with a motor vehicle.
