IIRC, they execute any who do not perform on the world stage...if I were those NC athletes, I'd seriously consider defecting. BTW- if they execute the coach and players, they do the family for good measure...so the athletes wont have to worry about 'sacrificing' their families by defecting...their families are likely to be toast regardless of whether they return.
