Hi, I'm from Panic. I just want to clarify some things because 3+ years later, people seem to be finding this discussion via Google.
Transmit Turbo is just the marketing name we gave to Coda's faster (at the time) file transfer engine. There is no file acceleration going on and, in itself, it has nothing to do with how many connections are used.
The problem is simply that Coda (version 1.7 and earlier) doesn't have a preference for limiting connections like Transmit does. If you drag over 100 files in Coda, it uses 100 connections. Simple as that. A future version of Coda will have a connection limiting pref.
