I think the present question isn't really whether the primary electorate likes Mitt, but whether they like anyone else better. As long as the rest of the more Tea Party-palatable candidates are splitting that crowd, Romney stands to win by simply being different. It would be a very different race if we were down to Romney and Bachmann right now, or Mitt vs. Herman.
