Don't forget to refill the system with the recommended fluid: Some systems use actual "power steering fluid", while other systems call for one type or another of automatic transmission fluid. According to my Haynes manual covering those trucks Dexron II ATF is the recommended fluid, but if the owner's manual calls for something else then it is correct and Haynes is wrong.
Also, it's not a bad idea to invest in some tubing wrenches for jobs like this. Using tubing wrenches instead of regular open-ended wrenches will greatly reduce the possibility of rounding off a stuck connector.
