Final literature that customers put their hands on, or just for color-checking and proofing said literature before it goes off to press? If it's final, you're probably not going to want inkjet prints going to your customers.

You say tabloid size, but does that mean edge-to-edge printing or bleeds on tabloid sized paper? If so, then you really mean a 13x19 capable printer so you can get your bleeds. I had an Epson something-or-other a long time ago that was capable of holding 13x19 paper. It was really nice for proofing catalog covers/pages. It was kinda goofy though, because there was a companion software RIP that it needed to work properly. Blech...

I would agree with the Phaser recommendation. Just not sure if those will give you the large-format bleed features, if those are even important to you.
