Yeah, the price is high, but seems typical Apple-Y.
Munster may be vindicated, finally!
For $1500 you could buy a TV and a mini... I don't get it.
LIke the iPod, iPhone, and iPad, a lot of people won't either. But that's OK.
There are a lot of people out there who won't want to put something together, they'll just want something out-of-the box plug-n-play.
I'd say a lot depends on what the set has to offer, given that none of us knows a damn thing about it.
But let me be the first to say (at least in this thread) - APPLE IS DOOMED!! COOK IS SCREWING UP APPLE RETAIL AND THE TV WILL BE ANOTHER PIPPEN!
And speaking of NDA violation, remember when (I think) the 350MHz G3 iMacs were announced at MWSF? a few days before, somebody leaked that a press release from ATi announced their chipset being used in the new iMacs, with all the specs listed.
Steve ordered all references to ATi stricken from their handouts and cards pulled from the other desktops. He couldn't do anything about the iMacs. I was at that show, and the ATi booth had a pall cast over it. They were showing off one of their high end cards in some Mac desktops, but *nobody* at that booth even smiled that I saw. It was a good while before an ATi card shipped with a Mac (except the iMacs).
The next year at MWSF, I asked the Dr. Bott guys if they had some literature on their new plug-in antennas for the unveiled AirPort routers. They said "Uh, no. We're waiting until after opening day to order." And that was because they were taking no chances.
It's amazing this day and age, that Apple can keep anything secret, any more.
But I like that they try.
