All the people outraged about the Mississippi bill to rename the Gulf of Mexico as the "Gulf of America" have missed its satirical intent, the sponsor said Thursday.
It's hard to tell if something is satire in today's climate. I was reading something on a site for "US Christian Ministries" the other day. I was sure it was another satire site like Landover Baptist. I never found out.
Satire has that one part that is a little bit too much. This bill did not have that. He should have added, "All sea going vessels must pledge allegiance to the USA upon entering this body of water, or else be boarded, seized & converted to Christianity by the US Coast Guard."
Nope. Still too believable.
