Bought a Pizza Box Performa when Circuit City stopped selling Macs. I bought all their 'old Macs' for $50 each. Never used the Pizza box.. I didn't have the right video adapter thingy for it. Traded it to a colleage for a monitor.
HA! Forgot about that one! Also bought mine at CC and unbeknownst to me (pre-Internet days), new machines were imminent. I got the Performa 405 for $1199, what a dog...16mhz 030, 4mb RAM, maybe 75mb (?) hd. But a great word processor. This and the Personal LaserWriter NTR helped me start my business 19 years ago last month. Wow. Can't believe it's been that long since I bought my first Mac.
Had that one about four years before upgrading to PB 1700cs. A decent machine that PB was, although a bit on the slow side (117mhz, whoo-hoo...not) and short-lived on the market IIRC. Got the processor upgrade for it a couple years later.
