Lux's response made me raise an eyebrow, too.
I think the typical person has the following:
Input 1: Cable box
Input 2: Streaming media device, i.e. Roku, AppleTV (1,2 or 3), etc.
Input 3: Blu-Ray Player
Input 4: Game Console, i.e. PS3
I wouldn't get a receive with less than four HDMI inputs. While I consider thatthe bear minimu, four is actually sufficient for most people. Consider... Game consoles and most blu-ray players can serve as a streaming media device. Same goes for the TV itself. So, four inputs is probably enough for a typical home user. Six would be better but four should be sufficient as the minimum and the Denon covers it.
