Getting Comcast rate down-- any recent success?
#4
You need to speak to a "loyalty" rep and beware that most of the time they'll just transfer you to regular salespeople when you ask for a loyalty rep... and those salespeople will lie through their f-ing teeth to you about how there are no deals available (but they have a great bundle to sell you for 6 months...)

So, when they transfer your call, the first thing that you should do is ask for them to give you a new promo and if they say that they have no promos then ask what they can do for you to keep your business and if they then offer you a package instead of a discount then hang up and try calling again because you're not really speaking to a loyalty rep.

The loyalty department is currently inhabited by a bunch of severely bent people because they're supposed o be able to cut deals, but they've been hamstrung and that point is drummed home to them every few minutes by disgruntled customers. They are not permitted to cut deals at all and there are no promos they can offer that the regular salespeople can't offer... EXCEPT that they are empowered to take $10-$15 off per month (for a year) if you take more than 10 minutes of their time because their time is worth company money.

So be prepared to argue about the competing rates of every ISP for 50 miles around because you've got time to fill.

Ain't monopolies grand?!
