Subjective of course. Acquaintance of mine has fairly small hands and she had no problem with the Galaxy S III. I've also held the S III and it seemed like it worked well enough.
The previous iPhone 3.5" screens were close to the smallest practical size possible. I have two 3.2" touch screen phones and while they function, typing is a bit of a chore for me compared to a QWERTY keyboard phone or my 3.5" Nokia N8 (please note, Symbian^S3, Anna, and Belle don't exactly have sterling software keyboards either and the small screen bump still makes a big difference).
I'm actually more concerned the skinny and tall iPhone 5 will have a more awkward feel than the bigger overall S III. I'd have to get one in my hand first. It does remind me of the same design complaint iPad fans were fond of spouting when it came to 16x9 tablets.
