advice on pet "safe" furniture?

Microfiber is great for dealing with pet hair, but clawing? Cats are going to do what they instinctively are going to do. Even when declawed. My one clawed cat will occasionally claw at my microfiber furniture. I don't think it's as attractive as other fabrics. She really prefers my dining room chair covers.
