After sleeping on it a night, how do you feel about the new Apple products?

i have been thinking about the iMac's changes, especially the 21.5in.

• removing the optical drive was unnecessary. add another USB port to make up for it. in fact, add two. most PC towers have 6-8 ports.

• who cares if the edges of the iMac are thin? the middle of the back still bulges out.

• taking away the option of user RAM upgrades was completely self-serving. it hurts the end-user and it hurts independent dealers/service centers.

• a 5400 rpm hard drive... in a $1300 computer? really? the previous gen included a 7200 rpm drive. honestly, how much does that save Apple per unit?

i'm not going to say beleaguered, but maybe they have lost their way a little bit. why does every upgrade have to feel like Apple takes away as much as they add? can't they just improve one area without backpedaling in another?

regarding the 27 inch: why leave the channel empty for an entire month? we have clients who need larger iMacs and buying refurbished isn't an option for them.
