Someone has been signing up one of my gmail addies for everything under the sun

It doesn't seem unusual to me.

My only gmail account set up with a simple name/initial gets both spam, and oddly, legitimate email from around the world.

I'm sure some most of it is from spam, or data entry mistakes, but the legit messages that get through seem to me like glitches in gmail's system, or how it parses the possible variations in the address (on top of user ignorance about that feature).

From the research I've done, it's not uncommon, but I don't have the energy to pursue it further with Goo "what is customer service" gle.

Double demerits to Match.com and Groupon for either not providing unsubscribe links (the former), or ones that don't work (the latter).
Thanks. This was the kind of info I was hoping for. I also suspect there's some glitch that is causing the system to treat a slightly different addy as if it were this one. I don't know why someone would make the same mistake for weeks on end.
