Where can I find a two dollar haircut?
I'm of the age where I can remember when this song first came out, and I'm particularly pleased that Lesley Gore not only allowed the use, but participates in it.
I also find it interesting that the current generation has had the freedom and advantages that came about from what was, at the time, called the "sexual revolution," the result of the introduction of the birth control pill, and most of them probably are not even aware that it was a major change in our entire culture, more or less coincident with the beginnings of the Viet Nam conflict, the Beatles, the acceleration of drug usage, and the civil rights movement. Some folks appear to resent all of this, hence the neocons and what's left of the Republican Party.
I predict that in another generation, a lot of these reactionary movements will be all but forgotten. There will still be religious zealots and maybe even a few racists, but common experience will have put most of their thought through the wringer and squeezed out most of the emotional juice.
