Short for refrigerator: "Frige" or "Fridge?"

Both are pronounced the same, but one is something you get in your neck and the other is a small stream.
I think that's a regional thing. Where I grew up, people pronounced "creek" as "crick". Where I live now, we say "creek". I'm in favor of going with pronunciations that most closely match spelling, however difficult that may be in the mess that is English.
