Children's bike?

Anyone have a suggestion for a 6 year old? She will be 7 in June. She's just started so she needs training wheels. Of course, i'm not sure when you're supposed to NOT have training wheels. Anyway, was just reading online that the big box stores might not be the best choice. OTOH, bike shops might be a LOT more than I'd want to spend on a bike for a 6/7 year old.
