cracking walnuts

If you're not going to crack them right away you need to dry them, otherwise the shells will get moldy. One year i put some in a laundry basket and set it in front of the fireplace, I stirred it up about once a day and it worked very well.
Also a brick and a hammer work well for cracking large amounts. |
