However, a PA in my doctor's office recommended a psychologist who did hypnosis.
A former co-worker used hypnosis after trying several different methods (aversion therapy!) and stopped smoking for good. She failed miserably with the previous methods.
She said the big difference was that she no longer had the desire to start up again. I don't know how the nicotine dependance was handled, but she was really happy with the hypnosis.
