any issue with mounting an LCD TV with a larger screen size but lower weight than recommended by mounting arm?

my guess is the arm was produced when displays of 24" were about 20 lb. Meanwhile TV and Displays got thinner and lighter. I think it should be OK as long as the TV is not too large to hit the support arm or the desk when you adjust it.
